Marie S. Valdez (93) passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2025, at San Luis Care Center in Alamosa, Colorado. Marie was born Feb. 7th, 1931, in Salida, Colorado to Philip and Patricia Valdez. Marie, a (tom-boy) at heart, she always loved spending time outdoors with her (daddy) and brothers, whether it was riding horses, herding sheep, or just going fishing. Marie loved to go fishing even in her later life, Beaver Dam was her favorite place to be. If anyone went looking for her, you could always be sure that Beaver Dam is where you would find her. Marie was the 4th of 11 children and is survived only by her sisters. Marie had 8 children of her own. She was proceeded in death by her eldest daughter, Debra Dominguez. Marie is survived by her remaining 7 children, Larry Dominguez (Del Norte, CO), Theresa (Richard) Trujillo (Colorado Springs, CO), James (Veronica) Dominguez, (Del Norte, CO), Frank Dominguez(Arroya Seco, NM), Alvin Dominguez (Clarksville, TN), Richard(Veronica)Dominguez (Kearns, UT), Dennis(Yvonne)Dominguez(Del Norte, CO). Marie is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held for Marie at the Strohmayer’s Funeral Home in Monte Vista, Co, Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 10a.m.-5p.m. for those who would like to come and pay their respects. A private family burial will be scheduled at a later date.
